TIE #022: How to Work Less, Earn More, and Love Every Minute

Waking up without an alarm, you hop out of bed with excitement for the day to come.
After a 20 minute walk in the sunshine (or in the rain, if you live where I do), you head inside.
Sipping your caffeine of choice, you check your email. It turns out that you made more money last week then you ever made at your job in an single month.
You don’t have to work today, but you choose to anyway because it’s fun.
If you’re like me, you work in a peacefully quiet home office. If you enjoy background noise, you head down to the local Starbucks or a café.
While working, you get side-tracked and start picking the next place to travel to.
Even though you could afford to pay for the trip ten times over, you get to book it for free thanks to your business credit card reward points.
Not just the airfare, the entire stay with a rental car.
After working for four hours, you decide that all your active, creative, and productive energy has been consumed for the day.
It’s time to spend the rest of the day on self-improvement.
What comes next is a combination of exercise, reading, and browsing on YouTube.
In the evening, a second wind hits and you work a little more before bed. You just can’t help yourself.
Sounds like a nice day doesn’t it?
That is my average day.
I’m not telling you this to brag. I’m trying to paint a picture of what is possible for YOU.
If I can have this, you can have this.
Thanks to the internet, your income doesn’t have to depend on the number of hours you work.
In can instead depend on:
The number of items you sell
The number of views you get
The number of services you sell
You don’t have to be “clocked in” to make money with those. You can even make money in your sleep.
This doesn’t mean I believe 9-5 jobs are unnecessary. In fact, I believe the opposite.
However, what most of the population has not realized is that they are getting the short end of the stick.
9-5 earners are underpaid, while one-person businesses are overpaid.
One day they will even out, but that day is not today.
Knowing that, here are your two options:
You can take advantage of this dynamic, start a one-person business, and build your dream life that looks similar to mine (or different, who cares)
You can complain about it being unfair, do nothing, and stay underpaid because no one is coming to save you
As always, the choice is yours.
