LEGO BUY ALERT: 1 Hit List Set and 2 Non-Hit List Sets from Amazon + End of Year Plan
I'm venturing outside of the system for two sets I love personally.
IMPORTANT: Make sure you view the actual post for these alerts, do not just read the email. I often edit in changes after sending these out. Refresh often!
If you’re reading this you should know what or where my LEGO Hit List is. If you don’t, check it out here and then come back:
Here are the LEGO sets I am investing in today:
DC Motorcycle Chase: Spider-Man vs. Doc Ock 76275 - $9.97 (MSRP) - Click HERE to buy from Amazon (limit 20)
Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade Fighter Plane Chase 77012 - $27.99 (20% OFF) - Click HERE to buy from Amazon (limit 20) (this is not a hit list set)
Creator 3 in 1 Medieval Castle 31120 - $79.99 (20% OFF) - Click HERE to buy from Amazon (limit 20) (this is not a hit list set)
Every year there are a few sets that are available at 20% OFF in early Q4 that I pass up on, hoping for a better deal that end up going to MSRP and never returning.
The Motorcycle Chase set is one of those sets.
It is what it is, so I’m now buying at MSRP to get some quantity locked in.
Most of the time that waiting gamble works, sometimes it doesn’t.
Now to the non-hit list sets…
Many readers know that the Indiana Jones set is my personal favorite this year because I love Indiana Jones, but the system thinks it won’t be anything special.
It was on the hit list at one point but fell off pretty fast earlier in the year.
I’m buying this set because I love it. If it underperforms, I am okay with that.
The Medieval Castle is also one of my favorite sets for “coolness” factor.
This was the type of set I loved and saved up yard work money to buy as a kid.
The interesting thing here is this set didn’t make the hit list.
However, in October and November it had data that would have put it on the list by a mile.
We did miss out on getting a small amount of these for $64 during Black Friday week, but I don’t really care about that.
Think of the castle as a late hit list addition as an honorable mention, even though it won’t be official.
With that out of the way, I want to talk about a few things:
Hit List Progress
Overall I’m happy with what the market gave us opportunity wise for most hit list sets.
That said, I am disappointed in how many sets I do not have enough of, that I would like to own more of:
Creator Supersonic-jet 31126 (hardly got any)
DUPLO Cars Car Wash 10996
Marvel Nano Gauntlet 76223 (I have 0 of these and don’t want to pay MSRP)
DC Batman Motorcycle Chase 76275 (set we bought today)
Minecraft The 'Abandoned' Mine 21166 (not buying more of these early at 20% OFF was a mistake)
Minecraft The Skeleton Dungeon 21189 (not buying more of these early at 30% OFF was a mistake)
The Mandalorian N-1 Starfighter Microfighter 75363 (not buying more of these at $9 was a mistake)
Monster Jam Dragon 42149 (I have a good amount, but want a lot more)
You’ll notice that almost every set here is under $20 each.
It’s more apparent than ever to me that I need to start early on cheaper sets, given how many I need to own to feel happy with my position size.
I won’t make that mistake next year.
Part of it is hindsight, we did not know Amazon would limit us to 1 business and 1 personal account this year.
Years prior we were able to order on 1 business account and 3 personal accounts, with the business account having the ability to order just as many sets as 3 personal accounts.
That is a 67% reduction in quantity.
There is still a chance we can get more of the sets I listed above, but I am making that adjustment for next year for sets on sale below $20.
Incoming Sell Alerts
This weekend I expect to start selling 2023 retirees, depending on what the market looks like.
I like to sell when a set spikes in price or if I think the set has hit a short/medium term ceiling.
I do not have a system for this and it is very much based on gut feel.
To get max quantity possible of each set above from Amazon, here is what you need:
1 regular Amazon.com account
1 business account
These limits used to reset weekly, I am unsure if that still holds true this year.
Every few days, attempt to buy more and see if they let you.
To abide by Amazon ToS, ensure both accounts do not have an active Prime subscription.

Not sure if I'm missing something, but Walmart has 76275 for the same price with 4% Rakuten.
