LEGO BUY ALERT: 1 Hit List Set from Target & Amazon + Walmart Preparation
Official Black Friday deals have started.
IMPORTANT: Make sure you view the actual post for these alerts, do not just read the email. I often edit in changes after sending these out. Refresh often!
If you’re reading this you should know what or where my LEGO Hit List is. If you don’t, check it out here and then come back:
Here are the LEGO sets I am investing in today:
Minecraft The Skeleton Dungeon 21189 - $19.99 (43% OFF) - Click HERE to buy from Target | Click HERE to buy from Amazon (Amazon has not priced matched yet, but keep an eye out) (this is a hit list set)
Speed Champions Ferrari 812 Competizione 76914 - $13.99 (30% OFF) - Click HERE to buy from Target | Click HERE to buy from Amazon (I still don’t have enough of these) (Amazon currently OOS, but keep an eye out) (this is a hit list set)
Sets I would be buying if I didn’t have my full allocation:
City 4x4 Off-Roader Adventures 60387 - $16.79 (44% OFF) - Click HERE to buy from Amazon | Click HERE to buy from Target
Disney Princess Moana's Wayfinding Boat 43210 - $19.94 (43% OFF) - Click HERE to buy from Amazon | Click HERE to buy from Target
If any of these are sold out, keep checking back. They keep getting more stock periodically.
IMPORTANT: Walmart has announced that they are offering The Office set for $70 tomorrow during their Black Friday sale
You need a Walmart+ subscription for early access and they almost certainly will revoke your subscription after multiple orders.
(This isn’t the end of the world, I’m just warning you)
I expect this to sell out almost instantly like the Winnie the Pooh set that everyone wanted last year (but I didn’t buy).
Last year they fumbled by not limiting quantity at checkout.
Either way, I expect this to sell out instantly but it is worth trying just in case it doesn’t.
You’ve been warned and I will send an alert out tomorrow when the sale goes live.
Make sure you are all signed up for Rakuten so you get at least 4% in free cash back.
Last week we got like 11%, so it could be around there tomorrow.
If you don’t have a Rakuten account, click the button and get it taken care of:
I’ve earned almost 1.5 million free Amex points thanks to them (because I choose this as my payout)
That equates to $16,500 when transferred to a Schwab brokerage account:
To get max quantity possible of each set above from Amazon, here is what you need:
1 regular Amazon.com account
1 business account
These limits used to reset weekly, I am unsure if that still holds true this year.
Every few days, attempt to buy more and see if they let you.
To abide by Amazon ToS, ensure both accounts do not have an active Prime subscription.
To get max quantity of each set above from Target:
Do not place more than 9 identical orders.
Put differently: Make sure the total $ amount and same quantity of each set per order is not repeated more than 9 times.
Place your orders slowly, do not give them any indication you could be a bot or they will ban you at least temporarily.
If you have a question, leave it below and I will answer ASAP.

As you scaled to a larger portfolio, how are you making the decision to start ordering sets which are not on as big of a discount.
At a high level it sounds simple and makes sense to start buying some of them at slight discount or even MSRP (if exclusive and high demand) and then buy up all the sales as they come. Finding the right balance and timing here is harder than it sounds. Any key indicators you look for?
Few examples from the hit list this year:
1) Princess Leia Helmet 75351 - unlikely to see a sale, target was 5% of portfolio with an assumed decent demand since it was exclusive. This one seems like an easy, buy at MSRP to meet the desired qty.
2) Monster Jam Dragon 42149 - easy to get at 20% off (15.99) but saw similar monster jam sets get to 12.99 last year (35% off). With a decent demand score and high desired qty, do you start buying these in Oct/Nov and then just double down on any sales? Basically a DCA type approach?
3) Speed Champs Countach 76908 - regularly 20% off but we know it could go down to 13.99 or lower here. With a high demand score and big bigger desired qty, time to start laying a base position?
You need an amex card in order to redeem the rakuten cash as points? Do you use that card for any other purchases during the year?
