After making nearly $3,500 in profit from just buying and selling books in March, it’s time to take a look at April.
I haven’t crunched the numbers just yet as I am typing this, but I have a feeling they are very similar to March.
The sales flow has felt the same for a while now and I expect that to continue until we get to August.
Reminder: I run this business because it is fun and I like to have a working example to prove to beginners what is possible.
I could double the profit of this business quickly if I wanted to, but that would take away from precious time used for content creation.
With that said, let’s jump into April!
April 2022
After we account for the non-book related items sold last month, the totals are:
Total Sales: $10,011.08
Books Sold: 128
Cost of Goods + Fees: $6,622.87
Total Profit: $3,388.21
Hours Worked: ~7-9
Average Profit Per Book: $26.47
Total Profit for 2022: $13,345.89
Just like I expected, the numbers were quite similar to March.
The total revenue increased by almost $400 but the profit per book dropped by $2. This amounted to around $100 less total profit overall.
We only had $770 in sales that were not books last month.
At this point in the year, all left over items from the holidays have either been sold or will be kept until the holiday season this year.
We worked the same amount of hours as last month, which comes to around two hours per week.
This time is mainly spent prepping and sending books to Amazon.
Moving into May and June, similar results should be expected. July is where things change on the hours worked end of things.
That is when I stock up on books that are heavily in demand come August and September, the busiest time of the year.
Last year we made over $6,000 in profit in August. I intend to beat that this August, on sheer demand alone.
Now is a great time to get started in the book flipping business, if you haven’t already.
