How I Made $907 in Just Over an Hour on Amazon
Who else shows proof of their sales like I do? That's right, no one.
A couple weeks back, I sold the books you are about to see below during the busiest time of the year for non-fiction book sales.
Rather than repeat myself, read this post from earlier in the month to gain an understanding of how this business changes during late August and early January:
This style of book flipping business is profitable year round, but extra profitable during these busy windows.
Rather than only being on the hunt for underpriced “deals”, we can be predictive based on historical data and identify books that will climb in value as the demand hits in August and/or January.
Some book businesses only aim to sell books during these two periods, which is something I’ve considered transitioning to myself.
It’s less work for a much larger reward.
As a content creator AND solo multiple business owner, time is precious and clawing back all I can get is worth doing.
More on this once a final decision is made.
Friendly reminder before we jump in: Your favorite YouTube, Instagram, or Twitter guru doesn’t show proof of their sales like I do.
Food for thought.
Book #1
Rarely do I ever buy more than 1-2 copies of a single book. However, the one time you can get away with it is during these busy seasons.
I grabbed 30 copies of this book at just over $15 (5% cash back) and sold each of them for $50.
Cost Basis: $15 each
Sale Price: $50 each
Fees: $15
Profit After Fees: $20 each
Total Profit: $600
ROI: 133%

This is another straight-forward Amazon to Amazon flip. Paid a little under $40 for it and sold it for over $100. It doesn’t get any better than that.
Cost Basis: $38
Sale Price: $105
Fees: $24
Profit After Fees: $43
ROI: 113%
Book #3
Here we have an eBay to Amazon flip for once, where the book sold for over triple the original purchase price.
There aren’t many other businesses out there where you can do that in just a couple months time.
Any that you can find require you to manufacture your own product.
Cost Basis: $40
Sale Price: $130
Fees: $30
Profit After Fees: $60
ROI: 150%
Book #4
This one right here displays the true power of this business. A return like this is something you will never find anywhere else.
A book that was $28, was sold for $220 just month or two later.
Anyone could have done the exact same thing. In fact, I offered people the ability to do it with my Busy Season Buy List.
That being said, I really shouldn’t be sharing this information for free.
Cost Basis: $27
Sale Price: $220
Fees: $42
Profit After Fees: $151
ROI: 559%
Book #5
Last up is another straightforward flip that generated a solid return. Not much to say other than: this is what’s possible.
93% return on investment looks low compared to the other books, but that is out of this world in e-commerce standards.
Cost Basis: $57
Sale Price: $140
Fees: $30
Profit After Fees: $53
ROI: 93%
Summary
Total Cost Basis: $612
Total Revenue: $2,095
Fees: $576
Profit After Fees: $907
ROI: 148%
It took about an hour to find these books, identify that they were likely to increase in price come August/September, and then buy them.
All I had to do after that was:
Send them to Amazon
Wait
All of that to make $900 profit sounds pretty simple right? That’s because it is.
The next busy season is coming soon this January. That means the best time to buy books for that period is around Halloween.
That’s only a month away.
When you are ready, there are three different ways I can help you:
Thanks for the post! What did you use to get the 5% cash back? A credit card?
