I'm in Canada and noticed the Speed Champions Toyota GR Supra 76901 has been 25% for a few days at a time in Walmart, and then back to full price a few days later over the last 2 weeks. I'm sure you track all sites, maybe others haven't caught that, so thought I'd share. Picked some up the second time I noticed it drop

Didn't happen in the US, but I'd be jumping on that if I saw it!

Question about adding to your inventory. If you receive a lego that is not damaged by the glue has broken apart so the box appears to be slightly open - do you return those? Leave them? Or have a way to re-seal. I have gotten a few items that I can tell have not been opened but 4 or 5 spots of glue have failed. Thank you for the advice.

I exchange always.

Don't want to deal with a return when I go to sell it later.

Thanks for confirming. Do you ever run into issues with retailers? I'm pretty sure I'm about to return 4 AT-STs :-)

You can get the Skywalker helmet at Best Buy for the same price as Amazon and get 2% back on Rakuten.

Expand full comment

Correct.

I get 5% back on Amazon with the Prime Business card which is better, but I will transition to Best Buy once I hit the limit with Amazon.

Man, I have so much to learn.

Lego Technic Race Plane 42117 on Fat Brain Toys for $8.39. Less than stellar rating on TrustPilot but seemed to be for expectations of overnight shipping. Willing to test them for this first purchase: https://www.fatbraintoys.com/toy_companies/lego_systems_inc/lego_technic_race_plane.cfm

Let me know how it goes!

Ran out of stock

Expand full comment

My only assumption is LEGO having sent them a giant shipment meant for this sale.

Expand full comment

How concerned are you about Race Plane being out of stock? I'm on the fence about adding to my position, waiting for any sale, then I see even AMZ is OOS.

Expand full comment

No concern.

More will be available.

How to get ungated?! Seems incredibly difficult to get access to a wholesaler to get an invoice to then be able to get to Amazon. Most wholesalers I've seen require this as a whole business and want business history. Maybe I'm missing something...

Expand full comment

Buy 10 keychains on lego.com, wait for them to ship, submit the invoice with Amazon.

Quite simple actually.

Expand full comment

A total of 10 keychains of any model or 10 of a single model? Looks like lego.com maxes out at 5 of any given keychain, unless I'm missing something.

Expand full comment

The spider man keychain has a limit of 50

Expand full comment

Gotcha, thanks.

Expand full comment

Same one. Usually there is one or some item type that allows for 10+.

Expand full comment

Whoa. 🔥let’s go. Amazon indicates it’s wholesalers only. I guess direct works too. Thanks.

Expand full comment

You can also go A2A (Amazon to Amazon). Amazon considers themselves a distributor - buy 10 of any item you need and submit as Jarek suggested.

Is there a way to pay monthly for the private membership? I bought both the Lego mastery and textbook mastery not realizing I would be interested in the private membership.

Expand full comment

There is not. If you've bought both, I'll give you access though. What is your gumroad email?

I'm ungated for LEGO but noticed I can sell Star Wars Imperial TIE Fighter 75300 under ASIN B08G444BQH (Sales Rank: 290,489 ) but not under ASIN B08HW13SQ6 (Sales Rank 931). Ever seen this happen where there are 2 listings for the same set but the one with highest sale ranking is disallowed for your account even though there are multiple 3rd party sellers on both listings?

Expand full comment

Yes. In general I say avoid selling on the secondary listings. I see them get shut down all the time.

Expand full comment

Thanks for the response - do you think it's odd I'm ungated in LEGO but can only sell on some of the primary listings? Has this ever happened to you? For me it's about 50/50 being allowed to sell on the primary.

Expand full comment

It happens. Amazon clamps down hard for Q4 on certain listings. It usually goes away at a later date. You aren’t alone.

I could be wrong, but last I checked on the Helmet set, it retires mid 2024?

Expand full comment

Every source I use says EOY.

If what you are looking at says mid 2024 stop using it.

Any tips for getting around Lego.com buy limits? Or having issues getting orders canceled?

Nearly impossible.

Have yet to find a reliable strategy.

Sorry - follow-up Q: I have not purchased Megalodon because I'm not permitted to sell at this time and worried about adding a position where I'm barred. For sets like Lego Technic Monster Jam Megalodon 42134, have you ever experienced the "sub-gating" where you are permitted to sell Lego generally, but they are not accepting additional applications for a specific set?

Expand full comment

It happens to sellers without a long history.

I recommend checking every Technic set that retired in 2022. If all are ungated, this one will likely be too by the time it goes to sell.

Expand full comment

Thank you for that tip. I'll have to be conservative and hold back. It appears, for example, I'm still gated in Max-D 42119 a similar Monster Jam retired in 2022. All the more power to you all that can sell Megalodon. Go get it!

I plan on getting your lego investment guide soon. In the meantime, do we hold on all these through Christmas and sell when exactly? Is there a specific time? I know it takes around ~6 weeks to get products into Amazon to sell. (Sorry - newbie here)

Expand full comment

I buy in Q4 with intent to sell the following Q4 so 12-16 months on average.
