TIE #056: How This Newsletter Got 175,383 Views and Made $7,027.39 in April 2024
This is proof that if you aren't documenting your business online, you're missing out on a lot of money.
Your first step to escaping the rat race is making your first $1,000 online.
I don’t care what anyone else says, the best way to accomplish this as a beginner is with a simple Amazon business where you sell other people’s products.
It worked for me 10 years ago and it’s what I would do if I had to start over from scratch today.
You can either try and figure that out on your own or you can join my private mentorship group here.
Choice is yours.
I don’t know how but we are already to the third post in this new series where I document the performance of this newsletter.
You can read the last one here:
Let’s start by taking a look at total subscribers:
Total subscribers gained: +471
Despite pruning roughly 400 subscribers near the end of April, we still gained almost 500.
(I removed anyone that hadn’t viewed a post in the last 6 months)
Next we have paid subscribers:
Paid subscribers gained: +26
After losing 13 in March, we gained double that amount in April for a total of 606 paid subscribers.
Heavy growth has continued well into May, thanks to our plan of attack that was put out prior to the May the 4th LEGO sale.
I am curious how a renewed attack on YouTube will benefit this as well (I have 4 videos in the pipe and ready to go at the time of writing this).
Next we have traffic:
Total Views: 175,383
The month was on pace for a typical ~120,000 views but got a giant burst towards the end of the month.
We had two unplanned paid posts that definitely helped this happen.
Here are the main traffic sources:
I am determined to increase that YouTube number.
In other news, the number of Instagram views increased by almost 2,000 vs. March and Twitter brought in an extra 4,000 thanks to this tweet going semi-viral:
I popped a little reply under this with a link to the newsletter and this is the result:
I wish I knew how to re-create this success, but I straight up don’t.
Here is how much money the newsletter made in March from paid subscriptions:
Total Profit: $7,027.39
We saw an $800 increase vs. March thanks to that end of month run-up.
Like I said, $10,000/month is inevitable.
While I could “game” it and push paid subscriptions extremely hard, I prefer to let people naturally find their way in.
I don’t want people paying for content that they don’t plan to read.

You will learn how to make your first $1,000 on the internet using the same methods I used to escape the rat race.
Hi Jarek. Have you noticed if there is a correlation between more subs and lower profit for the Lego sets? I’m curious if more people listing certain Lego sets you mention might be a drag on price.
