TIE #076: How to Make $2,020 in Profit on Amazon in a Single Month (while hardly working)
Come see how much money my Amazon business made in October 2024
Your first step to escaping the rat race is making your first $1,000 online.
The best way to accomplish this as a beginner is with a simple Amazon business where you sell other people’s products.
It worked for me 10 years ago and it’s what I would do if I had to start over from scratch today.
You can attempt to figure that out on your own or you can become a paid subscriber and get free access to my private mentorship group on Discord:
Upon joining, you will get full access to all my premium guides and content.
Once we hit 1,000 total paid subscribers, I will no longer accept additional paid subscriptions.
We are at 711 today and rapidly climbing.
Choice is yours.
I have been documenting how much profit my personal Amazon business makes in this newsletter for almost 4 years now.
While running this type of business was never a dream of mine, it is what laid the foundation for me to live a lifestyle full of freedom and fulfillment.
In 2024, an Amazon business is still the best option if you want to accomplish something similar and have no business experience.
This post is #46 of this series, you can read post #45 here:
My Amazon business has three branches:
Branch 1: Non-fiction book arbitrage (read here if you do not know what this is)
Branch 2: LEGO investment sales (read here if you do not know what this is)
Branch 3: Any and all other online arbitrage
Depending on the time of year, they all rise and fall independently from each other.
It is not your average Amazon business.
I target the highest profit margin possible while aiming to work as little as possible.
This often means buying products and waiting a while before selling them.
The game I play is efficiency, I do not play “number go up” simulator.
Let’s take a look at how we did in October:
Total Sales: $6,404.81
Items Sold: 59
Cost of Goods + Fees: $4,384.10
Total Profit: $2,020.71
Hours Worked: ~6
Average Profit Per Item: $34.25
Total Profit for 2024: $80,310.08
I warned last month that the numbers for October will be a dramatic drop compared to August.
This is by design and I intentionally aim for this to happen every year.
There is no incentive to sell any of my inventory early on in Q4.
The prices of almost everything I sell will be higher in December, so why sell now?
The revenue I did have stemmed from book sales and random arbitrage products I bought in late August and early September.
November should see a similar result unless for some reason we get a dramatic unsustainable increase in price for something I have ready to go at Amazon.
In fact, the numbers for November could be even lower.
All of that won’t matter when it comes time to report the number for December.
They will be explosive and it will be the best month of the year, by far.
I am thrilled with us having hit $80,000 in profit after 10 months in 2024.
That is a great income, especially for something that only takes a few hours of my time every month.
Before I go, let’s talk about some recent doom and gloom.
I’ve had several people approach me and say, “I heard that LEGO is now permanently restricted for most sellers on Amazon?”
This is not true.
There is no permanent restriction for selling LEGO on Amazon.
This is a temporary restriction that I expect to end in January.
A lot of people don’t know this, but Amazon used to gate the entire Toys category for sellers who did not have enough sales activity in the first three quarters of the year.
It is my assumption that they now have taken a version of this to the brand level.
Sellers like myself can sell LEGO because I have a history of doing so without issue.
As long as you get some LEGO sales during Q1, you will likely be fine the following Q4.
Remember:
LEGO does not have any issue with selling retired LEGO sets.
The actually encourage it.
This is an Amazon choice in Q4 to help prevent fraud.
If I was brand new to the game, I wouldn’t let it stop me from starting and creating a cash generating ecommerce business.
I say that because I’m the only voice on the internet who has actively shared how much money they make via Amazon for almost four years now.
The best time to start was yesterday and the next best time is today.
That choice is yours and I can’t make it for you.
When you are ready, there is one way I can help you.
